Shaft sealing system.

The sealing system is for an oil-lubricated shaft bearing (2) in a fluid-filled casing. The turning shaft (3) projects into the casing through a sealing device (4). There is a counter-pressure fan (6) on the side of the sealing device facing the casing. By sucking in air from outside, this fan creates a static pressure directed against the sealing device, thus pressing it firmly to the shaft. The sealing device has a flow channel (7) connected to the counter-pressure fan. The sealing device may be a labyrinth seal and may be fixed relative to the rotating shaft.
