<p>PURPOSE: To obtain a small high resolution digital printer by providing a two-dimensional back light for flash exposing a two-dimensional transmission light valve and a photoreceptor along with an imaging unit and the photoreceptor. CONSTITUTION: The digital printer 30 comprises a two-dimensional transmission LCD light valve 34, a uniform full flame backlight 36, an imaging unit 38 and a photoreceptor belt 42. A driver 32 controls the light valve 34 and the backlight 36 synchronously according to a digital data from an external digital data source 33, e.g. a memory area or other computer. More specifically, a pattern is formed at first by the light valve 34 according to a data and a signal is delivered to the backlight 36 in order to illuminate the light valve 34. The photoreceptor belt 40 moving in the direction of arrow B is then flash exposed by short and intensive illumination from the backlight 36.</p> |
