EXPANDING/CONTRACTING DEVICE FOR SCRAPE-OUT ARM FOR ALUMINUM OXIDE ASH FROM REMELTING FURNACE

PURPOSE:To provide an expanding/contracting device for a scrape-out arm, in which the expanding/contracting distance and velocity are both large in spite of the light wt. of the arm and the heat resistance is high and the damage caused by the overheat is avoided. CONSTITUTION:On a machine body 1 arranged in the front of a melting furnace F, a supporting device for supporting the scrape-out arm 3 with one shaft capable of extend the arm in the axial direction and a driving device for giving the feeding force for extending the arm are provided. In the supporting device, at least three pieces of idle rollers 15 are arranged in the front and the rear of the device. In the driving device, a rack 23 is projected on the lower surface of the scrape-out arm 3 and a pinion 25 is rotated by a motor 26 as the rack and pinion mechanism. These devices are used as a one step expanding/ contracting device 7. The scrape-out arm 3 is assembled with a base part big shaft 4 and a tip part slender shaft 6, and a two step expanding/contracting device 8 is arranged to advance/retreat the tip part slender shaft 6 to the base part big haft 4 by screw mechanism screwing the male screw 35 rotated by a motor 38 into a nut 37.
