The suppressor consists of a housing (1) which has a split bush (4) at one end into which the gun barrel (5) is inserted and held in place by screws (9), while its other end has a plug (6). The interior of the housing has a perforated tube surrounded by an insulating material, and a series of deflectors (7) held in place by spacers (2).The deflectors and plug have central apertures (11) which increase in diameter towards the outlet end of the suppressor to allow free passage to the lead shot and wadding, while a series of outer apertures (8) provide for decompression. In a variant of the design the suppressor housing can be offset relative to the barrel's axis to maintain the gun's original line of sight.
