Vehicle component housing

The housing for a vehicle setting component formed by injection moulding or die casting, such as the cable housing from a window winder lever or gearbox output, has a recess (22) to take an inserted component with at least two slits (27-29) in its wall (25). The material sections (37-39) of the inner wall (25) contour each face a slit (27-29) in the direction (A) of removal from the mould. The extension of the slits (27-29) at right angles to the mould removal direction (A) is at least equal to the extension of the material sections (37-39) on the lateral line (B). Also claimed is a mfg. appts. with upper and lower mould sections which, when closed, form the housing contour. At least two mould cores within the mould form the recess which, when the mould is closed, have partially covered surfaces. The cores are secured alternately to the upper and lower mould sections.
