Heating and ventilation device for vehicle interior

A combined heater and fan for car cabins has a housing 10 for the fresh air inlet 16, the mixing zone 18 communicating with the windshield defroster, ventilator and heating channels 20,22,24, fresh air and heated air branch channels 38,40, a heat exchanger44 and a mixing flap50, which pivots about the junction of the two branch channels. The fresh air inlet channel lies in the centre of the housing and communicates with the mixing zone and the air exit feeds both the ventilator and the heating channels. The housing is formed from two symmetrical halves and the fresh air inlet channel is fastened between the halves by lugs.
