The structure has a draining sheet 8 which extends over the inclined surface and on which there is, in parallel, a plurality of retention elements 2 which are connected together by means 3 for fastening the structure to the embankment and by means 4 for lowering the retention elements in order to allow variation of the angle which the retention elements 2 have to form with respect to the draining sheet 8, this all being in order to allow the manual or mechanical deposition of a seeded soil substrate in the space between the retention elements 2 and the draining sheet 8, said seeded soil substrate being prevented from being washed away by torrential rain, the growth of the vegetation and therefore the retention of the soil being made possible. <IMAGE>
