PURPOSE:To obtain a permanent magnet which has high reproducibility and stable magnetic characteristics by controlling the contents of oxygen and nitrogen in a permanent magnet alloy after sintered. CONSTITUTION:In an alloy which has a composition shown by R1-alphaR'alpha(Fe1-xBx)z (wherein, R is a combination of one or two or more of Nd, La, Ce and Pr, R' is a combination of one or two or more of Tb, Hu and Dy and 0<=alpha<=4.0, 0.06<=(x)<=0.14, 4.0<=(z)<=6.5), oxygen of weight ratio 1,000 to 12,000PPM is contained. An appropriate weight ratios of oxygen and nitrogen contained are different depending on the above-mentioned value (z) and for 4.0<=(z)<=5.0, oxygen: 3,000 to 12,000PPM and nitrogen: 50 to 300PPM and for 5.8<(z)<=6.5, oxygen: 1,000 to 8,000PPM and nitrogen: 50 to 300PPM and if these conditions are not satisfied, excellent magnetic characteristics cannot be achieved. |
