<p>PURPOSE:To provide the sound stopping device which can use a wide stop rail for stopping a hammer shank from moving as to the grand piano. CONSTITUTION:The stop rail 30 is hung on a fixed rail 40 by support arms 32 and 42 so that it can be displaced at right angles to the surface abutting on the hammer shank, and a cam shaft 46 where a cam 48 is fixed is supported rotatably on the surface of the fixed rail 40 which faces the stop rail 30; and the stop rail 30 is so energized as to abut on the cam 48. Consequently, the stop rail 30 can be displaced from its stop position to the stand-by position without changing the direction of the surface abutting on the hammer shank by rotating the cam shaft 46, and the stop rail 30 can be increased in width in the grand piano whose space above the hammer shank is limited.</p> |
