PURPOSE:To perform the connection of the process input and output signals and also to confirm the operation of a process input/output device at the process side where a remote PI/O is placed with no connection of a process controller and with the monitor operation of a personal computer, etc. CONSTITUTION:The internal control part of a remote RI/O includes a synchronizing communication I/F 15 and an RS232C driver/-receiver 16 which serve as a synchronizing communication interface that performs the communication with a process controller, and an asynchronizing communication I/F 17 and an RS232C driver/receiver 18 which serve as a slow communication interface that performs the communication with a personal computer, etc. Then both interfaces are controlled exclusively to each other by a microprocessing unit 12 and the program processing carried out in a memory 13.
