<p>PURPOSE:To efficiently utilize a recarburizer as a carbon source for cast iron without oxidizing and scattering by using a ferrous container filled with the recarburizer as the carburizing unit used at the time of producing the cast iron. CONSTITUTION:At the time of producing the cast iron by using pig iron and iron scrap, such as pig scrap, steel scrap, return scrap, and powdery and granular material of graphite and carbon quality such as pitch coke and petroleum coke as the recarburizer, a cartridge type carburizing unit 1 which the recarburizer 1b is filled into the iron-made container 1a such as steel pipe and the both end parts thereof is sealed is used. The carburizing unit is charged into a burner-type rotary furnace together with ferrous raw material such as pig iron and steel scrap, and the ferrous raw material is melted by heating with combustion flame of the burner and also the steel pipe 1a of the container for carburizing unit 1 is melted, and the recarburizer 1b in the inner part is immediately absorbed into the molten iron raw material to produce the molten cast iron carburizing to the prescribed quantity. As the powdery and granular recarburizer is not added as the single material but added a the carburizing unit in the furnace, the powdery and granular recarburizer can efficiently be utilized without loss due to the oxidation and the scattering.</p> |
