PURPOSE:To automatically lock or unlock by regulating bending of an engaging tongue piece by projections of both a cylindrical operating portion and the engaging tongue piece, and moving the engagement between an insertion portion and a receiving portion by means of a lock means and a return spring. CONSTITUTION:When a sliding member 10a reaches a stopper 11e, force for pressing a cylindrical operating portion 8 is transmitted to an outside contact 6a. Accordingly, an engaging projection 19a is moved together with the operating unit 8 until it is fitted into a recessed groove 17a formed on an engaging portion 17. When the projection 19a is engaged with the recessed groove 17a, the interference between the projection 20b and the tip of an engaging tongue piece 19 is eliminated. When a hand is released from the operating portion 8, resilient restoring force of a return spring 9 can lock an insertion portion 1 to a receiving portion 2. In the case where the receiving portion 2 is detached from the insertion portion 1, the force is transmitted to the spring 9 through the member 10a by the stopper 11b when the operating portion 8 is drawn. Since the projection 19a is kept to be fitted into the recessed groove 17a, the spring 9 is compressed until resiliency is obtained. Reverse operation can separate the insertion portion 1 from the receiving portion 2.
