<p>The method involves fusing (34) and comparing (23) images produced by two infrared sensors (31,32) working at different wavelengths and by millimetric-wave radar (33), with the prod. of a human vision simulator (21) such as a visible-spectrum camera. The video image is evaluated w.r.t. quality indicators (22) including average brightness, contrast, contrast gradient, and variants of contrast and gradient adapted to sets of adjacent pixels instead of isolated ones. Blocking (24) of the artificial image and generation (35) of a head-up substitute are controlled by parameters (37) such as distance from an airport. <IMAGE></p> |
