A lathe &c. tool holder comprises a shank 1, Fig. 4, on which is mounted a reversible flat tip 2 having a number of cutting edges on each face. The tip is clamped by turning a screw 12 which has an eccentric extension 14 engaging a hole 16 in the tip. The tip is thus forced towards the edge 9 of a recess in the shank. In a modification, screw 12 may be replaced by a plain pin 12a, Fig. 8, carrying an eccentric 14a and axially held in the shank by a pin 22 seating in a groove 23 in the pin. The tip may be of triangular or circular shape. |
