PURPOSE:To prevent nonuniform buffing on an overcoat layer at the end of a color display picture element forming region of a color filter at the time of smoothing the region by buffing. CONSTITUTION:A color display picture element forming region (a) consisting of a black matrix pattern layer 24, a filter colored pattern layer 22 consisting of a black pattern B, green pattern G and red pattern R and an overcoat 25 laminated on the entire surface of the black matrix layer and filter colored pattern layer are provided on a filter substrate 1. A dummy pattern (c) having almost the same thickness as that of the filter pattern layer and overcoat layer is formed outside the region (a), and region (a) and the dummy pattern (c) are simultaneously ground. |
