PURPOSE:To provide the production method for liquid crystal element which surely and satisfactorily removes foreign matters like dust and uniformizes the orientation control forces of oriented filmy to liquid crystal molecules and the pretilt angles of liquid crystal molecules and prevents the variance of orientation and secures a high voltage holding rate. CONSTITUTION:Transparent electrodes 3 and 4 and oriented films 7 and 8 which cover these transparent electrodes 3 and 4 and are subjected to rubbing treatment are formed on surfaces facing each other of a pair of substrates l and 2, and liquid crystal 26 is interposed between oriented films 7 and 8 and is charged between the pair of substrates 1 and 2. With respect to the production method of this liquid crystal element, surfaces of oriented films 7 and 8 are alternately washed by alkaline ionized water and acid ionized water after rubbing treatment. Consequently, foreign matters like dust are surely and satisfactorily removed though being stuck to surfaces of oriented films 7 and 8 by static electricity generated by rubbing treatment, and thereby, orientation control forces of oriented films 7 and 8 and pretils angles are uniformized to prevent the variance of orientation, and a high voltage holding rate is secured. |
