PURPOSE:To obtain a recorder by which processing time of image data is reduced and the toner saving mode is informed while executing toner save recording saving the amount of toner and avoiding equipment cost increase by recording an image with selective forming of plural dots by toner. CONSTITUTION:The number of dot data of each integral number (M) row is revised into zero by setting a toner save flag, dots are not recorded in all rows for each integral number (M) and decision of dot nonformation for toner saving is implemented in the unit of rows. Furthermore, when a recorded image formed on recording paper is light, whether it results from toner saving or other cause such as less toner residual amount by a lighted or extinguished toner save lamp is recognize. That is, when the toner save is noticed by the lighting of the toner save lamp, it is recognized that it results from the toner saving. |
