PURPOSE:To provide the machine translation device by which translation expressing a meaning of an original sentence with fidelity is attained. CONSTITUTION:The machine translation device is provided with a frame expression dictionary 12 storing specific phrases as original sentence frames, an imbeded rule 15 deciding a translation sentence frame and a conversion pattern of a syntax structure as rules with respect to the original sentence frames and imbeded word attributes, a frame extract section 6 extracting an original sentence frame from an original sentence, an imbeded sentence analysis section 9 retrieving an attribute and a translation of an imbeded word from the dictionary 14, selecting a rule to be applied based on the imbeded rule 15 based on the original sentence frame and the attribute of the imbeded word and deciding a conversion pattern of a translation frame and a syntax structure based on the rule, an imbeded sentence conversion section 10 imbeding a translation of an imbeded word to a position based on the conversion pattern to the translation frame to generate the translation of the original sentence, and an imbeded sentence generating section 11. |
