PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of the whole network by canceling the stagnation of printing-out by outputting information from an equipment, which is provided with desired output paper even in the case where that paper is not provided. CONSTITUTION:Printing-out is indicated from a computer 604 to a copy machine A601. The presence/absence of paper, A4 in size, is inquired to the copy machine by communication between the computer 604 and the digital copy machine A601, for example, the presence/absence of paper, A4 in size, is investigated by the copy machine A601 while using a paper sensor and a size sensor corresponding to thar inquiry, and the result is reported to the computer 604. When there is the paper in A4 size, information is printed from the copy machine A601. When there is no paper, A4 in size, on the other hand, the computer 604 next inquires the presence/absence of paper in A4 size to a digital copy machine B602. Thus, even when there is no desired recording medium at a desired output device, the desired recording medium of the other output device on the network is searched and information is printed out there. |
