Mechanical movement system

The mechanical movement system comprises a base with a platform 7 having three pairs of supportive legs 8 coupled at triangularly spaced-apart locations by three universal joints 9 each of which couples to one end of each of the two legs of a respective pair. Each leg is drivably engaged by controllable leg drive means for moving the leg in its own longitudinal direction, the leg drive means 10 associated with each leg being mounted by ball and socket means such as to be capable of accommodating movement in all directions except about the longitudinal axis of the respective leg.
