A module has an open topped trough shaped canister (40) housing an inflator (52) and a folded airbag (56). The module is closed by a deployment door (10) with two opposed edges and a weakened portion. Opposite ends of a first flexible rectangular tether (30a) each have a rod connected to a channel in each of one edge of the door and one sidewall (42) of the canister. A second flexible rectangular tether (30b) connects another sidewall (44) of the canister and the other edge of the door. Pref. both tethers are of nylon and the second tether also has rod and channel end connections.
