PURPOSE:To obtain a preventing and therapeutic agent for bone resorption osteopathy such as malignant hypercalcemia, bone Paget disease or osteoporosis containing a gypsogenin compound (salt) as an active ingredient. CONSTITUTION:This preventing and therapeutic agent contains a gypsogenin compound (salt) expressed by the formula (R<1> and R<2> are each H, glycosyl) as an active ingredient. The daily dose thereof expressed in terms of the sum total of the active ingredient for an adult is 1-100mg/kg, preferably 10-30mg/kg administered in 1-3 divided portions in the case of oral administration and 0.1-10mg/kg, preferably 1.0-3.0mg/kg administered in 1-3 divided portions in the case of parenteral administration. |
