The gearwheel machine has its gearwheels (16,17) on a drive shaft (22) with axle (23), attached by a laser weld joint. This is particularly suitable for small gearwheels. The welds are made in the transition regions between the borings and the shaft with axle.The laser weld may cover part or all of the transition region. The shafts with axles are hardened. The gearwheels are produced by a sintering process. The casing must allow sufficient space for the welded gears to rotate freely.
