Trousers are steamed, dried and aligned with increased productivity

A process for steaming or drying garments, esp. trousers entails catching the trousers in the waistband region, then the leg region, introducing steam into the inside of the trousers and drying them. Here, after catching the trousers at the waistband but before catching them by the legs, air is blown into the trousers at the waistband to align the legs, i.e. they are inflated so both legs adopt a tube-shape. Also claimed is appts. for process implementation, i.e. a waistband catching appts. (1), a trouser leg catching appts., an air supply for steaming and drying and inflating trousers as necessary and an actuation device for the manual operation of the appts. Pref. air is blown only for a short time, in a pulsating manner and is stopped when the trouser legs are caught. The trouser leg catching appts. operates by means of a sideways displacement of clamps or from below by the insertion into the inflated tube-shaped leg openings of expanding or displacement components. A common device is utilised for the application of steam to, drying air to or inflation of the trousers.
