Sepn. of viruses from protein solns. comprises: (a) contacting the protein soln. at least once with a solid phase adsorbent (which is capable of adsorbing viruses), for at least 10 mins., to give a suspension or slurry; and (b) separating the solid phase (with adsorbed viruses) from the protein soln. The adsorbent is selected from kieselghur, silicic acid, clay minerals, metal hydroxides, metal oxyhydrates, cellulose, perlite and water-insoluble synthetic polymers. |
