Device for supporting and holding objects, in particular tools or instruments to be sterilized in storage or transport baskets, trays, containers or the like. The device is characterized in that it consists of parts (1, 1', 1", 7, 7') made of a material which withstands sterilization temperatures, and is removably secured to the desired locations of the basket wall (2) or the like, each part having at least one area for insertion of a section of the objects (3, 3', 6) to be held. Said area includes a portion (4, 11, 14, 16, 20) of a resilient material which withstands sterilization temperatures, and is arranged so that it wedges and elastically holds said section. The device of the invention is useful, in particular, for sterilizing medical tools, instruments or objects.
