PURPOSE:To reduce areas that registers provided on I/O sides occupy, to minimize a chip size and to reduce its cost by providing the write and read data registers on the I/O sides of a memory means and making the capacities of the data registers smaller than one line of the memory means. CONSTITUTION:The write data register 2 is provided on the input side of the memory means 6, and the read data register 9 or 10 on the output side of the memory means. The capacities of both data registers are made smaller than one line of the memory means. If one line of the memory means is 910 bits, their capacities are slightly larger than 455 bits, that is, half of the one line. 910 bits are bisected, and the data registers fetch and transfer by the half. Thus the chip areas of the data registers provided on the I/O sides of the memory means can be decreased to reduce their costs. |
