PURPOSE: To obtain a film suitable for packaging food by forming the single layer or at least one layer of a cast film from a propylene/ethylene copolymer with a specific isotactic index. CONSTITUTION: The single layer or at least one layer of a single-layered or multilayered biaxially stretched film comprises a propylene crystalline homopolymer. The single layer or at least one layer of a cast is formed from a compsn. comprising a propylene crystalline homopolymer with an isotactic index of 80 or more or a crystalline propylene/ethylene copolymer with a propylene content of 85 wt.% or more and an isotactic index of 85 or more, a copolymer fraction containing propylene and ethylene, insoluble in xylene at ambient temp. and a copolymer of ethylene and propylene and soluble in xylene at ambient temp.
