Type of invention: skiving machine for flat supple material, comprising: a) a passage (1) for flat material (2), with corresponding drive means and within the passage a cutting region (4) extending across the working width of the skiving machine and having at least one skiving blade (5); b) an advance and guide device (9) applied to the flat material (2) at least in the cutting region (4) during the skiving process and having first and second support and/or conveyor means applied to the first and second surfaces (11a and 11b) of the flat material (2) and extending at least partly over the working width (3), the first support and/or conveyor means having less dimensional stability than the second support and/or conveyor means in the direction transverse to the flat material (2). Object of the invention: to devise a skiving machine for flat supple material, particularly leather, providing a wide range of application, high operational reliability and corresponding product quality. Inventive features: the first support and/or conveyor means (10a, 110a, 210a, 310a, 410a) comprise at least one elastic support element (20, 120, 220, 320) that extends over at least part of the working width (3) and that has volume-compressible elastomer material. Particular fields of application: making and working of leather, especially manufacture of footwear, furniture and leather goods. |
