<p>PURPOSE:To perform development while controlling the amount of charge by using an electrostatic charge image developing method which comprises irradiating a toner contg. a photochromic compound with light in a developing machine. CONSTITUTION:In this developing method using a toner consisting essentially of a resin, the toner used contains a photochromic compound and is irradiated with light in the developing machine at the time of performing development. The developing device used for this toner is also provided. At this time, light having a wavelength region from 300 to 420nm is included in a part of the wavelength region of the light with which the toner is irradiated. Of the two kinds of light required for isomerizing the photochromic compound in the toner, a part of the wavelength region of at least one kind of the light is within the wavelength region from 300 to 420nm. Thus, by using this method, the amount of the charge can be controlled through utilizing the light sources in the developing machine.</p> |
