PURPOSE:To provide a measurement method for rail axial force by which the effect of the residual stress in a rail can be eliminated and the measurement of the axial force loading on the rail is made possible and a rail whose axial force can be measured. CONSTITUTION:The method is characterized by providing a stress-sensing part 1 on a rail 2, exciting the part 1 by an exciting head, detecting the change in magnetization of the part 1 as a voltage signal, and measuring the rail axial force based on the voltage signal. In addition, it features that the voltage signal is a Barkhausen noise and the part 1 has such a structure that cementite is precipitated after the rail 2 is locally heated in a gamma phase area and heat treatment is applied thereto at a lower temperature than that in the gamma phase area. Further, the rail 2 is characterized by providing the stress-sensing part 1 and it can measure the axial force. |
