<p>A stamper for manufacturing a substrate for an optical disk including grooves of 1.3 νm or less in width and a track pitch of 1.6 νm has a plurality of projections and recesses for forming the grooves. Each of these projections has a flat upper surface portion and a pair of slopes on both sides of the upper surface portion.
