PURPOSE:To enhance the color density and light fastness of a record by forming a thermal transfer sheet by laminating a colorant layer containing a dis-azo dye represented by the specific general formulae and a binder on a base material. CONSTITUTION:Aminobenzene represented by the formula II is diazotized according to a usual method and the diazotized reaction product is coupled with phenol represented by the formula III to synthesize a dis-azo dye represented by the formula I. In the formulae I, II, III, A is an alkyl group, an alkoxy group, a halogen atom, an alkoxycarbonyl group or the like, B is an alkyl group, an alkoxy group, a phenylene group or the like and R is an alkoxy group, a halogen atom or the like. A thermal transfer sheet is obtained by laminating a colorant layer containing the dis-azo dye represented by the formula I and a binder on a base material. As a concrete example of the binder, there is a water-soluble resin such as a cellulosic resin or a resin soluble in an org. solvent such as an acrylic resin. |
