PURPOSE:To provide a new antiallergic agent which is effective for prophylaxis and treatment for variety of allergic diseases because it has the effect of inhibiting immediate and delayed allergies with high safety, and an external preparation for skin and a bathing agent containing the allergic agent. CONSTITUTION:This antiallergic agent contains an extract from at least one of plants selected from copaiba (Copaiba multijuga Hayne), batata (Operculina altissima Meissn) and comfrey (Symphytum officinale Linne) with at least one selected from water, hot water, a lower alcohol and polyol organic solvent. The plant extract can be directly used as it is as an antiallergic agent, further can be used in an external preparation for skin or a bathing agent in an amount of 0.05 to 20wt.%, preferably 1 to 10wt.%. The antiallergic agent containing said plant extract has antihistamic action, arachhidonic acid metabolism activityinhibiting action, and anti-contact dermatitic action and is effective for preventing and treating a variety of allergic diseases such as eczema, urticaria, atopic dermatitis, allergic rhinitis, pollinosis or the like. |
