An arrangement in liquid filters comprising: (a) a liquid container (2) and filter rotor (1), with the filtering means (7) partly immersed in the liquid container in which the surface of the incoming liquid suspension within the rotor (5) is kept at a higher level than the filtrate (6) outside the rotor in the container; (b) dividing the filtrate into a prefiltrate fraction produced at the container side where the rotor periphery moves downward into the liquid and a clear filtrate fraction produced at the container opposite side where the rotor periphery moves upward from the liquid; (c) providing discharge means having openings (13) and separating the filtrate space at the container side from the prefiltrate outlet, the discharge means with its spaced apart openings arranged so that the openings are situated opposite the rotor filtering means near the filtrate liquid along the rotor length through which openings the prefiltrate fraction can flow to the prefiltrate outlet. Discharge means comprising container walls (8) with openings, tubes with openings and tubes opening into channels are claimed. Also claimed is the arrangement applied to drum filters and disc filters in which the discharge means extend into the interspaces between adjacent discs. |
