PURPOSE:To provide a twin belt type continuous casting machine provided with a molten metal detector which can detect the molten metal surface in good accuracy without radiating the activity. CONSTITUTION:In the twin belt type continuous caster having endless belts 6, 7, an X-ray tube 1 is arranged in one side and a fluorescent plate 2 emiting with the X-ray from the X-ray tube 1 and an array-state optical sensor 3 at the back surface of this fluorescent screen 2 are arranged in the other side while interposing the neighborhood of the molten metal surface of one pair of endless belts 6, 7. The surface level of the molten steel 8 is detected from the number of the received lights on the array-state optical sensor 3. |
