PURPOSE:To enhance the effect of a pre-stress by securing an outside cable in which the pre-stress is introduced in the main cross-beam of a bridge in its longitudinal direction to the middle part of a beam in such a way that the cable is not moved and deflected in its longitudinal direction by means of fixing devices. CONSTITUTION:An outside cable 4 in which a pre-stress is introduced in the main cross-beam 1 of concrete in its longitudinal direction is secured to the middle members 2 of a beam 1 in such a way that the outside cable 4 is deflected and is not moved in its axial direction through fixing devices 6 consisting of fixing members 15 having connecting bars 10, taperings 18. In introducing the pre-stress in the outside cable 4, external force is acted on the main cross-beam 1 even at an intermediate portion as well as both ends to give almost the same distortion as that of the major cross-beam 1 to the outside cable 4. The result facilitates the mounting of the outside cable and enhances the breaking-proof stress of the major cross-beam against an impact load. |
