PURPOSE:To remove smoothly the excessive plating deposited on both edges of a double-side-plated steel strip. CONSTITUTION:At least two sets of side edge grinding devices, in which hourglass- shaped rotating brushes 110a facing to each other in the lateral direction of a steel tape (S) are engaged with both edge parts of the steel strip (S) in order to grind the both edges, are provided along the advancing direction of the steel strip (S). A grinding controller is prepared, which detects the variation of a driving load to a motor 120 for rotating/driving the hourglass-shaped brush 110a and moves a brush supporting frame 163 in the lateral direction of the steel strip (S) in order to adjust the brush grinding load. A grinding position detector 3 for detecting the grinding position is prepared, and the detection signal is sent to a presser roll controller 22, so that a second presser roll moving mechanism 21 is controlled, based on a control signal from the controller 22. A presser roll warp detector 301, which detects the amount of warp of the steel strip (S) at its end part, is installed in a base 160, and the detection signal is sent to the presser roll controller 22, so that a first presser roll moving mechanism 300 is controlled, based on the control signal from the controller 22. |
