PURPOSE:To prevent burn through in molten parts by generating shrinkage due to solidification in both end parts in the same degree by simultaneously executing laser beam welding in both end parts using plural lasers, always keeping the butt interval between both end parts at an interval where laser beam joining is possible and controlling the quantities of heat input to the temps. of preceding and following materials. CONSTITUTION:This method is a method by means of laser for continuously rolling the joined rolled stocks after executing the butt joining of the rear end part of the preceding rolled stock 1a and the tip part of the following rolled stock 1b with the laser on the inlet side of finishing in the rolling mill of a hot rolling device. To minimize thermal deformation which is generated at the time of welding the rear end part of the preceding rolled stock 1a to the tip part of the following rolled stock 1b using the laser beam, joining is simultaneously executed from both end parts of materials to be joined by using two CO2 lasers and, by controlling either or both of the output of the laser and welding speed according to the temp. of the rolled stock and butt interval, the generation of burn through is prevented. |
