PURPOSE:To reproduce the compositional distribution and arrangement state of a sample by controlling the frequency of the standing wave formed in a sample and receiving the diffraction wave from the sample to subject the receiving signal to inverse Fourier transform. CONSTITUTION:The gaps between a sample, transmission transducers 2, 4 and a receiving transducer 3 are filled with a coupling liquid 6 such as water. A burst wave for ultrasonic driving is generated by a transmitter 7 while the frequency thereof is changed within a predetermined range and supplied to the transducers 2, 4 arranged at an angle of 90 deg. through a phase shifter 8 to generate a standing wave. The diffraction wave from the sample 5 is received by the transducer 3 and the output thereof is normalized by a receiver 9 to be digitalized to be stored in a memory 12. An operational processing device 13 subjects observation data by frequency components collected in the memory 12 to inverse Fourier transform processing to reconstitute an image. A monitor 14 displays the reconstituted image as an ultrasonic microscopic image. |
