PURPOSE:To provide the manufacture of a nonlinear resistor where limited voltage (V1mA) is raised and the life is elongated, and a lightning arrestor, concerning a nonlinear resistor for a lightning arrestor. CONSTITUTION:A nonlinear resistor, where the limited voltage (V1mA) is raised and the life is elongated, is gotten by two times of heat treatment after mixing SiO2 or GeO2 and composite oxides, which are made by mixing and calcinating material having ZnO tar its main ingredients and a plurality of metallic oxides such as Bi2O3, etc., and, granulating, molding, and baking it. Accordingly, the limited voltage (V1mA) can be raised without marring the discharge resistance property of a nonlinear resistor and gamma type Bi2O3 effective for the improvement of the life can be produced stably, etc., whereby application to a high- performance lightning arrestor for AC and DC and the downsizing of the lightning arrestor can be materialized. |
