Sealing device for providing sealing between a first part (1) and a second part (2) in rotary movement with respect to each other, the first part having a cylindrical portion (1a), the free end (1b) of which is located axially facing a radial surface (2a) of the second part. The device comprises an annular seal (4) made of an elastic material with a rectangular or square section. The cylindrical portion of the first part has an annular circumferential groove (3) with an V profile. The seal is partially rotated on itself to be mounted in the V-shaped groove, one of the edges (4b) of the seal being housed at the bottom of the V-shaped groove, and one of the adjacent edges (4a) of the seal projecting axially with respect to the free end (1b) of the first part so as to be in frictional contact with the radial surface (2a) of the second part. Application to rolling-contact bearings and to clutch release bearings (thrust bearings). <IMAGE>
