PURPOSE:To provide a mobile telephone set having a higher operability by converting KANA (Japanese syllabary) input into KANJI (Chinese character) to display KANJI. CONSTITUTION:A user inputs a registered person's name with KANA by keys. When corresponding one of 12 assigned keys is depressed, a key input part 1 detects the depression to transmit a signal to a control part 3. When receiving information of the depressed key, the control part 3 temporarily stores information of the key input and sends the data to a display part 2. When a key for KANJI conversion is depressed in this state, the key input part 1 detects the key input and informs the control part 3 that the KANJI conversion key is depressed. The control part 3 retrieves and takes out corresponding KANJI data from a KANA-KANJI conversion dictionary 7 for the purpose of converting inputted KANA information into KANJI and sends the data to the display part 2, and the display part 2 displays KANA or KANJI on an LCD. |
