The appts. for manipulating and transporting objects from a fixed station to a movable station comprises: (a) structure (2) capable of being displaced from a fixed station to a movable station, and vice versa; (b) vertically movable docking frame (3) carried by the structure (2) and provided with indexing means (35) which allow the frame to be temporarily locked to the transport system of the movable station; (c) horizontally movable gripping unit (5) carried by the frame (3); (d) devices (6) for gripping the objects to be handled and transported.
