Prepn. of a whey-based prod. (A) comprises fermenting whey with a mixt. contg. /-1 each of:(a) a Lactobacillus (La) of the species hilgardii, casei, cellobiosus, brevis, acidophilus, kefir and delbrueckii;(b) a Streptococcus (St) of the species lactis, cremoris and diacetylactis;(c) a Leuconostoc (Le) of the species mesenteroides and kefir, and(d) a yeast of the species Saccharomyces delbrueckii, S. cerevisiae, S. unisporus, S. globosus, S. carlbergensis, Kluyveromyces fragilis, K. bulgaricus, K. lactis, Torula holmii, Candida tenuis and C. kefir. Also claimed are:(1) the prod. (A) as above;(2) a drinkable cosmetic compsn. which contains (A), and(3) a cosmetic compsn. for external use which contains (A).
