PRODUCTION OF COLOR FILTER

PURPOSE:To provide a production method for a color filter with improved flatness of a flattened film. CONSTITUTION:The color filter is produced by applying a material for a flattening film containing a specified solvent and thermosetting material on a transparent substrate 1 having plural numbers of pixels 5 to 7 to form a film and then heat-treating the film to form a flattened film 11. This production method includes a process to vaporize the solvent in the film comprising a material to form the flattened film and to dry the film prior to the process of forming the flattened film 11. The drying process consists of a first drying process to treat the film under such conditions that the theoretical vapor pressure of the solvent is to be 20-160mmHg for 1 to 10min, and a second drying process after that to treat the film under such conditions that the theoretical vapor pressure of the solvent is to be 1-10mmHg for such a period to obtain >=430mmHg.min product of the time and the theoretical vapor pressure.
