The bristle holders on the toothbrush are mounted on a water-filled rubber cushion. This yields according to the pressure used when cleaning the teeth so that the bristle tuft on which the pressure is exerted can be pushed inwards and the other bristle tufts move outwards.A gas-filled cushion, elastic substance or sensors could be used instead of the water-filled cushion.
