Measuring instrument axle attachment adaptor for motor vehicle wheel

The adaptor includes a measuring instrument (40) installed in a defined relationship to the axle (32) on a mounting (1). The mounting is divided into inner and outer sections (2,3) by a plane (44) inclined at about 4 deg. to the vertical. The inner section (2) is coupled by a projection (15) from a flange (2a) to two or three parallel rods (16) terminated with clamps which engage the rim of the wheel.The outer section (3) rotatable in either direction has a central bore (5a) surrounding a pivot shaft (5) fixed to the instrument and supported in bearings (11,12). The axial position is fixed by grub screws (8) and a circumferential groove (9).
