SOLID INSECTICIDE COMPOUND

PURPOSE: To obtain an insecticidal formulation capable of readily handling and transporting, having high activity and used for treatment of animals having low sensitivity to stripping and used for treatment of animals by combinedly using polyvinylpyrrolidone and a pyrethroid insecticide. CONSTITUTION: This solid insecticidal formulation comprises a polyvinylpyrrolidone and a pyrethroid insecticide. The formulation is preferably used as an aqueous dispersion by dispersing the formulation into water. Further, the formulation may be distributed to a liquid in a vessel such as immersing tank. Further, the liquid insecticide dispersion may be charged into a vessel and an animal may be immersed therein. A compound of formula I [A and B are each a halogen or methyl; (n) is 0-2; (m) is 0-2; R<1> is a group of formula II (R<2> and R<3> are each H, a halogen or an alkyl) or a group of formula III (R<4> is phenyl)], especially α-cypermethrin is preferably is used as the pyrethroid insecticide. The solid formulation is obtained by extruding the pyrethroid insecticide with polyvinylpyrrolidone and successively cooling the extruded material until the material becomes brittle and then pulverizing the material.
