The invention concerns a method as well as a device for checking, during the swirling process, swirled-filament yarns with regard to their swirl intensity, or for unacceptably long unswirled or insufficiently swirled lengths of yarn. The invention calls for vibrational measurements to be made on the yarn (8) in the vicinity of the swirling device (1) and the measurements to be processed to provide the check.
